Location
When installing, the Yandex app requests permission to access information about your location. You can grant or deny that permission.
Information about your location is used for the following purposes:
- Sites can show you the most relevant region-based information (for example, the local weather or traffic info on a map).
- The address bar can display accurate suggestions (for example, about the weather).
- Settings can show a list of search engines that are used in your area.
By default, your region is detected based on the location of your device.
Set the region manually
-
On the home screen, tap
(profile picture) → App settings.
- Go to Location.
- Disable the Auto detect option.
- Tap Select manually.
- Enter the name of your city.

- If Set manually is enabled and you have a wrong city set, enable Set automatically.

Make sure the app is allowed to access your location.
If the problem persists, contact support. Send a Home screen screenshot with the incorrect location and write your actual location.
