Personally, I really like the proposal of this anime/manga. However, I've already started to form an affection for the protagonist, and I really want him to enter this world of romance too. especially with yanami. But I feel like if I wait for something like that, it will definitely take a long time and it seems like a distant future... or maybe it will never happen So is it worth watching hoping for something other than girls suffering from being rejected? (If someone is already further along in the story, try to minimize spoilers, but in a way that answers the question ) |

With all due respect, why not just watch what is presented in the anime story, instead of “hoping” for something to happen with the characters? To me, this way of thinking would only cause you to be disappointed with something you want to happen, not happening, but this would not be the shows fault. The MC is surrounded by people supposedly “in love”, wanting to and trying to get into a relationship, which provides much of the comedy and drama in the show, but he acts as the “straight man” in the show as the common friend of the girls that lost their chance for “love,” being a support in many cases. I personally like that he is more down to earth and not delusional about “love”, they would need a character that matches his common sense and maturity, but this has not come up yet. |

I don't think the LN's have gone too much further yet then the anime will go. So it'll probably still be wait and see going into a next season (hopefully we get one). I may be wrong but there wasn't more then info in 4 LN's and the current arc is #3. |

So obviously the potential romance is the MC with someone. This is like the yuri shows without yuri, because they didn't adapt enough source material to have yuri in them. |

Wouldn’t their experiences make him NOT want to act like these people, and to be more careful with his “feelings” and his choice of who he asks? |

There won’t be any romance with MC anytime soon in anime or LN if it happens at all remain to be seen. ( this is just a guess given how many vols have been released so far and that the anime has probably only done the first 3 vols and LNs tend to be a lot slower with developments ) |

And also, being in love is not a decision. It's not like he decided that he won't fall in love because of these losing girls. You can't do that. If you could, these girls wouldn't be sad, because they could have just decided that they are not in love anymore. |

I’m sure it’ll happen at some point, but it feels a bit too soon for that. Would defeat the purpose of the story if love happened now. |

i really hope not, all these female characters are so interesting and the last thing this story needs is them falling all over the protag's dick. it has so skillfully avoided full wish fufillment so far and i'd prefer them all to stay friends |

@ejleon Makeine is a normal romantic comedy with a difference in the development of the characters. Anyone who thinks that there is no romance in a romantic comedy is very wrong and will probably be disappointed in the future. Just be patient with a slow pace |

@teymarofc Your first statement is false and your second is a straw man argument. This is not a "normal romantic comedy", the norm in these anime, is to have the male MC(s) interacting as the love interest or interested in the Female MC(s), which is what you are wanting to happen, but in this anime the male MC is not in any romantic circle, he is a friend of the girls being rejected or losing their potential partner to another. I never said "there is no romance in a romantic comedy", this is a made up issue that neither me nor @ktg said, so there is no reason to mention this, except as a straw man argument to claim that I am wrong, with false information. Lastly, this account was just started this year and only has 1 anime, this anime, on its history, so this looks like a fake account used to respond on the forum 8 times. I will be reporting you. |

@ktg Asking someone to be their friend and asking someone to be their partner, is not the same thing, nor would one affect another, unless they found out that their character was awful and didn't want to associate with them any longer. Being attracted to someone is involuntary, falling in love or out of love is a conscious decision, based on the attitude of the person and/or how the relationship goes. You are talking about "feelings" like "Sadness" & "Happiness", which are separate reactions to "Love", and those are general feelings everyone has, but not everyone is "in love", so a person can be "Sad" or "Happy" whether they are in love or not. The Male MC is "Sad" & "Happy" in the show too, but he is not "in Love", he is reacting to the girls' different situations, he is empathetic. The girls have no reason in the anime to stop loving their chosen love interest. It is not like the guys broke their heart by cheating on them. The girls still love them even while they are with someone else. |

Maybe I didn't express myself correctly, implying that I wouldn't like the anime if it didn't have a romance with the protagonist. but that's not it! not to mention that in many moments the anime is still very fun and sentimental I just wondered if at some point a romance could develop. not that this is necessary. and after all, we are talking about feelings, it is not something that changes from one moment to the next. But that doesn't change my opinion that a future romance with MC would be cool. |

I read the LN up to volume 7 and I tell you to forget this story if you're looking for a quick relationship development. Nukumizu has some light flirtations with several girls, but nothing has reached a serious development so far. And look, in volume 7 they're already in their second year and there's even a new kohai in the club, but no romance has been seriously developed yet. So you're part of the crowd that roots for Yanami. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but in the LN, as time goes by, she becomes more and more friends with Nukumizu. It's possible that they'll eventually become a couple, but considering their interactions are much more about friendship and how sometimes Nukumizu feels explicitly disgusted by the way Yanami eats or how when she wants to share her bitten and drooling food with him, I don't see much of a romantic future for these two. |

@IzayoiSk Do you know what a trend is? It's when the data is going in a certain direction and is in a certain predicted range of the future. This LN has already established its bases well, the trend is quite clear after 7 volumes, poor Yanami is really a losing heroine even for Nukumizu, whoever read it knows that in the scale of heroines in the story who are Nukumizu's romantic interest, if she's not the last one she must be among the last. It's a shame that even the kohai who just arrived in just one volume already has much more "tension" with him than Yanami, the daydreaming of Yanami's fans is absurd lol, Nukumizu literally kept remembering Shikiya's smell and fantasizing. |

no matter how many people say that there will be no romance for the mc at the end of it it's going to end like oregiru yanamin is the main heroine he is going to choose and I feel like that how it will end , I mean we already see those scenes multiple times now where she blushed thinking he's confessing to her and that only happened with those two only. |

I’m not sure about “will he” but I hope so. I don’t really agree with accepting a show for what it’s presented so far—it’s normal to want to see a show take a certain direction as these current plot points resolve. The cast is so much fun I think it would be nice to have a more traditional romance be in the end game. Whether it’s with Anna or some new girl (lemon or Konami seem unlikely). The girls getting involved in someone else “winning” could be a fun direction to go from here. Also, that student council girl with the cat ears seems like she has a crush on Nukumizu, so I’m starting to suspect a new girl coming in to be possible. |

idk maybe much later, i'm not really interested in that at the moment tbh. there's countless other romcoms you could watch for that, but this one is making appreciate the friendship aspects even more. |

Who knows, we can only speculate at the moment, i think this anime has kind of a more "realistic" or rather "cautious" approach to romance, but it makes sense if you think about Nukumizu's personality and the fact that two of the three main heroines are really popular, though i'd also be curious to see it. I doubt that he will get in a relationship with Yanami, they are basically buddies. Not sure about the other girls but they don't seem out of the question |
