This episode has a good atmosphere of spy's mission even if it was rushed. The girls did a great job to save the princess.
Since the finale is open ended, I would like to see a second season, but I don't think it will happen soon.
The relation between Ange and Charlotte was really interesting. Near the end, I wasn't absolutely sure who was who. Very good anime and awesome OP!.

I loved this show so much. All of the characters were incredibly well written, the atmosphere was great, and the story was compelling. The open ending has me hoping for the possibility of a second season, but at the same time I can see it ending here. Either was, I'll be happy. These twelve episodes were incredible.

I have to admit. When I picked this up, I was wholly expecting cute girls doing cute things in cutesy spy ways. And I would have been fine with that.

BUT

Instead, I ended up getting a thrilling espionage series laced with awesome fights (Chise anyone??) and an in-depth perspective into the characters I never would have expected (i.e. Dorothy and her father). Of course, Beatrice served her role well as that token bundle of cuteness. However, Princess Principal made up for it with plenty of class and a setting ripe for the political espionage it delivered. I especially like Charlotte and Ange's dynamic, even if it could get confusing as all hell!

Given how the cases were numbered, I can't say I'm fully satisfied if it decides to end this way. But if that really is the conclusion, I'd say the journey was well enough to call it just another day in the lives of loli spies.

This is so disappointing.. Princess Principal is basically modern era anime school girls transported back to 19th century London, with a twist.. they're spies. That's really it. Normally I wouldn't have minded that much, if the show didn't try to sell it differently at the very beginning..

Even the format of attempting to characterize the characters is no different than your typical reverse/ harem, where each character gets their own backstory mini arc to "flesh them out".. and to quote KyoumaZ's review,
Additionally, what we gathered from her pasts doesnโ€™t reflect on their behaviour when not confronted by it or how they formed them during the test of time, the creators rather just trying to serve the fans of a certain archetype of a girl more than anything else, making the experience of these backstories even more forgettable. We have the apathetic girl, the devoted girl, the more mature and way more experienced girl (in both, a supposedly sexual and work-related way) and last but not least, the Loli samurai of Japan, combining both of their supposedly greatest achievements all in one character, as it is surely been seen through the eyes of an unclouded otaku. I harbour an extreme disdain toward it, especially considering on which time-period the setting is reminiscent on, where Japan might've not even been the mysterious Elysium as the show makes it out to be, not even compared to most of Europe.

These girls are supposed to be spies yet they're going around telling everyone they are spies, and they were trained! They're also way too emotional. The premise was that they're always lying yet you can tell their friendship is genuine and they're being truthful a lot of times, even though a part of the series was spent on highlighting (more like, trying to be edgy) the opposite.

Wasted potential, lots of time spent on cute girls doing cute things, tea time, laundry, shopping and whatnot. Chise also joined the group because.. yeah she was accepted into their group really easily, for what reason, well we don't question that, ever. Beatrice was brought along in many of their missions, but she's not a fighter, and they brought her to the front line for.. yeah, just because.

Terrible.

edit: oh yeah did i mention about how they mixed up the episodes or "cases" so it doesn't follow the chronological order, for no reason at all?

Not really ending as the wall still stands but at least they all got away (with sheer amount of luck and plot armour but still).
Without second season (doubt there would be one) it feels incomplete.

6/10 Cute spies doing cute things with some darker elements and lot of plot devices.

It was a great show, some nice episodes, fantastic atmosphere and sweet but tough girls. What I missed was a more complex bigger storyline wrapping everything together. Some storylines like flashbacks or important missions of some girls could have been more interesting if they would have been told through 2 episodes with a nice cliffhanger inbetween. They did this with the last mission and also there it felt kinda rushed in the end with also some dumb scenes like the car at the front gate. Here 3 episodes would have been beeter, too. Also some minor charas like the women from mission control may deserve an own episode. thee whole story told in 26 episodes may have been better. Therefor not a top notch rating, โ€žonlyโ€œ 0,89. Now the girls are still together so there could be more in the future. Lets hope so, but still its sad that it wasnt like I mentioned in the first place โ€ฆ

I somehow thought there would be 13 episodes, but this is the final one. Open end. Atleast we can look forward to season 2. I have quite enjoyed this and Im womdering how it plays out in the end. I hope Ange and Charlotte can be together. Princess little speach revealed she is ready to die for anges dream. Pretty sad.

Somehow I completely forgot about Beatrice lol.

Ange and the team managed to stop the evil Zelda's plan, but Zelda has a C-ball, and she got away.

After the credits rolled, we got see the girls on the beach, enjoying their brief rest.

This was pretty good. I'll definitely check out the sequel when it eventually comes out.

Well, anticlimatic final fight.

-:
-unnecessary chaotic storytelling.
-SOL episodes.
-episode 10.
-anticlimatic final fight.
-some flaws.

+:
+decent characters.
+mystery.
+Dorothy's episode.
+Charm.
+episode 2.

I just don't know why some ppl compare this to Release the Spyce. Besides the spy theme everything else is trash. 6/10 for the anime.

I have to say I was a bit confused to who was who, with all the wigs and it looked like they were either never or all the times disguising as one another. But once they said that Ange is always lying, you could always feel a bit of double-crossing and expect that anything said and done was actually meant to be the opposite. The ending wasn't bad, Ange or Charlotte or whatever finally came a bit out of her shell, but the problem this anime has is that there is little to none closure. You always only get their missions "success screen", yet no direct result, like when Dorothy's father was killed off, we never got to know if she knew or what happened after the failed revolution attempt. It's all a unsatisfactory mystery.

6/10 overall.

The finale was okay, not bad but not great either, felt a bit rushed and convoluted but I did still enjoy the absolutely chaotic nature of it and the interactions between Ange and Princess Charlotte, especially at the post-credits scene during their vacation at Casablanca. Good thing there's more Princess Principal content arriving in the future with The Crown Handler series which would be in 6 parts, so I can be a little forgiving on the ending since the whole world and narrative of Princess Principal could be fleshed out more that way.

Overall, the series was fine. This show was one of the first seasonals I ever saw back when Summer 2017 was the first season of anime I decided to pick up with tons of brand new options to choose from like Made in Abyss, Fate/Apocrypha, Classroom of the Elite, etc. In that season at the time, Princess Principal ended up being my 2nd favorite anime of that season behind Owarimonogatari Season 2 (even better than Made in Abyss) and one of my favorite anime that year. 3 and a half years later and a 1000+ anime later, seeing this again definitely humbled the show for me a bit with the score, as its definitely not as good as I felt it was before. The narrative is clunky with a non-linear structure that doesn't make too much sense here, some plotholes are there and some elements like the Cavorite tech that Ange uses in her missions being unexplained and barely researched at all, some episodes feel redundant and there's a lack of cohesion this show has, plus the dub while is bold, is weird to adjust to given the loli like designs speaking like 30 year olds.

Still though, Princess Principal despite so many flaws was a fun and thrilling show with good characters, great music and oozed tons of charm with each episode. There were a lot of good moments that far outweighed the issues that the show had so I can say while its not a great show, its a respectable one and a 6/10 sounds fair on that front. Gonna miss hearing that OP song with each episode, still an absolute underrated banger.

Maybe it was a little rushed ending, but it was still a pretty satisfying episode.

Overall, a very good show. I liked the 20th century steampunk setting a lot.

Episodes 7 and 8 were my favorites. I liked the backstory of Ange and Charlotte and that Chise episode the most.

A thrilling, action-packed finale to finish this series comparable, in style, to what we saw in the 1st ep. I just feel that the ending lacked something. I can't put my finger on it.

This show is cursed. Introduce a character, then instantly killed them off. Neat. Here I am now, surprised they didn't murder Zelda.

Aside from the synopsis for the show, I don't think we learned much about Cavorite, which honestly I'm a little bit disappointed by.

I loved the backgrounds, the look and feel of the world setting, as well as the in-universe places that we ended up seeing. The animation was good for the most part; any cgi was neatly done and not God awful to look at, but the character designs, especially the male background character (lol) lacked depth. At least the close-ups for the girls was consistent.

Oh yeah, Chise best girl!

The re-watch made me feel that this show could've reached more potential, but for what it was, it's pretty good enough. I should bump the score lower though.

The ending itself felt rushed to reach its intended resolution, though the action is still the same as before, and the Principal spy team all working together again to finish what they started.

The connection between the real Ange and Charlotte was fun, though it got convoluted if you're not paying attention. They didn't really talk much about Cavorite itself, though we see it being used a lot without any explanation for a literate plot device. Always will remember this show for the banger OP, truly the first of many shows for my seasonal opener for the investment.

Good thing there's still the Crown Handler movies so this journey still kinda continues in a way.

I'm still so confused as to what exactly is going on regarding the kingdom and the commonwealth, the military and this revolution, and control, which seems to be back in control, I think. I'll search up a good summary later, but that's of little matter when we have our girls back together and back in business.

Final thoughts, I am genuinely surprised how this did not gain any more traction than it did. But that's okay, I can call it somewhat of a hidden gem. The non-chronological layout of events made if feel just a BIT messy, but that's just a nitpick. Really I'm just so pleasantly surprised that this has really set it apart from what you'd expect it to be at first glance, which may have been just cute girl spies being cool. But it's smarter than any of that.

I'm going to give it an 8/10. Now onto the Crown Handler movies, which apparently there will be SIX of, two of which are currently released. See you guys around!

Hmmm... Obviously, knowing there are two movies after this, was certain none of the girls would die. Genuinely surprised Ange actually fell for Charlotte's lie in previous episode. The whole revolution attempt was pretty dumb and led nowhere. In general, the two warring sides are poorly explained in the show. Yes, there was a revolution and there's a divide (wall) but that's basically all we know. And, doesn't one side have shit-tons of "game-changer" warplanes? Did the show forget about the major plot-point that renders the revolution and war pointless due to one side having massive firepower and advantage over the other? This is literally what they tell us in episode 1, but we don't really see this supremacy, or dread, or fear.

Chise literally saved the day. I guess author's favoritism towards the Japanese is showing lol. If not for Chise, literally every girl + princess would be dead. Kind of lame to see the gang carried by some random OP character who joined the party last. Felt like cpt.Marvel butting in in Marvel universe at the last moment and performing better than the characters we spent tons of time with.

It was quite corny how the princess who is 4th in line on the throne was chosen by the rogue military to be the new Queen after the coup. I mean, she's smart and talented and all, but has she really done anything to be considered "worthy of the throne" by these people? 10% success chance makes sense, but were these soldiers/commanders so dumb to not see how stupid the whole plan was??? The captain or whoever (the guy with a key who ends up getting shot and dies) he figures out why princess is worthy to be queen literally moments before dying. In other words, he had no idea Charlotte was worthy, even though he had already decided earlier to make her the new queen!

Still pisses me off how a stone-face Ange turned into a crybaby in the final episode. She should've stayed an "alien" and think about Charlotte's words more; without getting all emotional. Felt out of character.

Expected more out of this show, but was worth watching anyways. 7/10

This series is still lovely as ever I see. I still love it.
I will really appreciate it if they were to make another season.
Another two season would be a great way to make Charlotte (the real Ange) to be made queen.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

The Major was the hidden MVP here. If he hadn't been willing to listen to the Princess and delayed the whole thing, Ange and co. would've been too late and the revolution would've started

Wonder what Zelda's plan was. She would kill the two people who would make that revolution work and then... still try to do it? lol

Definitely an interesting show about spies, had some unexpected twists and the cast overall was quite fun. Weird enough, Ange and Charlotte were the most boring characters, despite being the main characters. 6/10
