- Comment:Staszek Lem Thanks for withdrawing the nomination. Rather than doing the AFD wrecking bar/crowbar — AfD is not cleanup, and this subject rather clearly meets GNG — you might try a different tool I suggest that this would be a good candidate for this week's article for improvement.

- Keep: I searched about him and he isn't that isolated from the media world. For ex- look at this (the fact that the whole article is about him and his ventures strengthens its case for being kept). In my experience, The Independent never writes an article on someone who is irrelevant. The painter looks to be very respected amongst artists. Considering the fact that painters do not get much attention these days, if he is being covered by publishers like The Independent (which, in general, do not cover regionally renowned peoples), then i think that he is surely notable. Look at the prices of his paintings, these are above average. But the best thing about the subject is this which describes him as "one of the founding fathers of fantasy and heavy-metal art". - Keep WP:CREATIVE#1 non-trivial coverage of this subject also exists. The artist is clearly a leader in his field of work. Some of these sources are passing mention, some are interviews, however collectively they show that the subject passes WP:N Heavy Music Artwork, Tolkien Library, Independent, Master of the Moon: Ronnie James Dio, Trebuchet Magazine Interview, Great album Covers. - KEEP Reliable sources. Meets WP:GNG, and that is despite the fact that album cover artists work in the shadows of the performers for whom they illustrate. As the article documents, he is among the most important Tolkien illustrators. Article is now improved from what it was when nominated. WP:Hey. Proving there was no compliance with WP:Before.
