Should be deleted per WP:DICDEF. SupernovaExplosion Talk 05:36, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Could it be used as a redirect and a brief mention in car culture? It's a prevalent enough term that it would warrant a brief mention somewhere in that article but not to the point where I think it could have its own article. I'll do some searching to see what I can find but I just thought I'd throw this out there as a suggestion.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 07:35, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- It could also serve as a disambiguation page, as there's multiple things here that have the term "lover's lane". I'm leaning towards having this redirect to a disambiguation page with a brief definition as well as links to pages with this title in it.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 07:36, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to Lovers Lane (which I have converted to a dab page). Clarityfiend (talk) 09:59, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment There should be an entry about it in Wiktionary. --SupernovaExplosion Talk 10:11, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect as above. There may be scope for an encyclopedic article on the topic, with sources and references, but it doesn't have any sources or much detail at the moment, so a redirect to the DAB page gives a definition. --Colapeninsula (talk) 10:31, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect as above. Thanks Clarityfiend!Tokyogirl79 (talk) 12:23, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep WP:DICDEF does not provide a reason to delete. Note that the topic is notable being covered in sources such as Illicit sexual activity in public places and Beyond lovers' lane — The rise of illicit sexual leisure in countryside recreational space. Warden (talk) 12:25, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- So what are you saying? If an article title mentions this term, it is not dicdef and it would deserve a Wikipedia article? I did not expect this kind of AfD argument from an experienced editor like you. --SupernovaExplosion Talk 12:33, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- What I'm saying is that the WP:DICDEF policy provides no reason to delete and so your hand-waving reference to it is inappropriate. I say this because I am an experienced editor who has read that policy many times and understands its point. That point is not that we should delete short articles — the policy says quite the opposite. The point of that policy is that we should group topics together by their meaning. This means that it is best cited as an argument for merger, not deletion. But what would be the other titles to which we might merge this? Courting is perhaps the best but that article is still a mess and so it might be best to keep the topics separate until they are in better shape. Warden (talk) 17:16, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect as already mentioned. —Al E.(talk) 13:37, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment In the process of searching for sources. Very hard to narrow down the search sufficiently to get relevant info......--Coin945 (talk) 17:19, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment. The first five aren't reliable, but the sixth is okay. Clarityfiend (talk) 23:15, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Amendment 2 Lover's Lane seems to be associated with teenage making out (especially in the 1950's and 1960's) and also paranormal activity/killings. I think we might actually have stuff to go on. Our own Wikipedia article refers to the phenomenon as "lovers' lane slaying" - and other articles confirm this term, or the similar "Lover's lane killing"--Coin945 (talk) 17:41, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
