i can barely look at sweet foods. a small amount of chocolate or pure sugar candy are ok, but i can't eat much.

Bread. pasteres, pancakes, donuts,, cake etc. make me completely ill.

sometimes they look tasty but i know if i ate one i would be sick.

this only happened a few years ago but i have no idea. Food that is a bit fatty or even deep fried is good, but sugar makes me want to vomit.

Sugary dough / flour products are disgusting IMO, same with candy. Chocolate is good if it's milk chocolate. Pancakes are fine too, but neither sit well in large portions.

Sweet foods make you feel good inside and out, just don't eat too much or you'll get fat.

Oh my godddd everyone in school thinks i'm weird because I really REALLY hate pastries. Cake isn't that great, donuts are too doughy and rich and they make my stomach hurt instantly, I used to like Oreos a lot but I can't even eat more than like 1 at a time.. Oatmeal cookies and pumpkin pie are the only doughy-type things I can deal with without my stomach churning. I like the taste of waffles/pancakes/French toast but they all make my stomach hurt instantly and it's a curse.

I don't like chocolate chips, though I like chocolate bars.. Hard candy isn't really my thing but sour lollipops are alright.

Comfort/junk food for me is pasta in any form lol.

Jalapeno & cheddar chips and BBQ sunflower seeds are my jam tho hmu

Yes

Candies, cakes, donuts, and all those different varieties of sweet pastries. I've tried them and attempted to like them.
But I would feel sick every time.

The only kind of sweets I can tolerate is chocolate, but even that feels like acid in the mouth after a while

I don't like cupcakes. Usually the frosting is far too sweet for me to actually enjoy eating it. If presented with the option to take one, I'll have to politely decline.

If it's extremely sugary and creamy yes.

I do eat sweets now and again though. I'm not a fan of soft drinks though. (coke, sprite, etc.)

Only sugary food that is too "sugary" that my tongue rejects. For example, sponge cake is already sweet to begin with, and yet people still also glaze it with caramel, add choco flakes topping or sweet cream, and eat it with syrup. It's sugar+sugar+sugar which is just too much.

Carbohydrate provides 4 calories per gram, protein provides 4 calories per gram, and fat provides 9 calories per gram.

you get over double the calories from fat. eat something fried! :)

A really great drink is sugar cane juice mixed with orange juice.

Our ancestors survived the best if they could find sugars, fats, and proteins. Leaves were plentiful so they didn't need any incentive to eat those. Agriculture only started 10,000 years ago and it takes 1,000 generations for a dramatic evolutionary change so we are still adapted to this. Maybe people like will survive longer as you are less likely to get diabetes or heart disease.

You aren't a 'sweet' person at all, are you OP?

I used to favour sugary items alot when I was young.
But now my body always tend to 'balance' it out by having something salty after.
That does not mean I dislike them now. I love them just as much.

I love sweets as much as a child does, but I try to limit my intake of them because it isn't healthy to eat too many of them. I also wouldn't want to gain weight.

I still have one serving of something sweet each day. I'd probably start foaming at the mouth if I couldn't have a cookie or a cup of ice cream at some point in my day.

i know how you feel. its almost sad? i walk by a big cookie and go "oooooh" and then remember it will make me ill lol. there is certainly nothing wrong with sweets in moderation! anything in moderation is reallyok, even fast food if thats your thing (sure i'll eat it if i'm out and really hungry lol)

That's actually a good thing that it makes you sick. Sugar is incredibly bad and addictive. In my opinion it should be made illegal as an addictive substance. Natural sugar from fruits is fine but junk food is full of excess sugar.

When I cut out sugar from my diet I got headaches and other withdrawal symptoms. And of course extreme cravings. It was a hard few days then it got a little easier. I had to meditate a lot to control the cravings until my body fixed itself. I think as a society we need to fix the way we eat. You know it's fucked up when 5 dollars can get you more junk food than vegetables.

It's not just what you eat but your body structure and how you exercise.

Some people have a hard time gaining weight. Lucky assholes.

I'm serious and curious. Are there any papers showing sugar is as addictive as other drugs? Even legal ones like caffeine or alcohol?

Yup. I went to a hershey factory and wanted to throw up just looking and smelling at everything. But i know 13 year old me would have loved it.

Also, when I drink coffee, sometimes the end of the cup scares me when I accidently throw a little too much sugar in and perhaps I don't stir well enough it just sits there and it is a violation to the taste buds
