Now Viewing: komi_shoukoTag type: Character 古見 硝子 A slender, dark-haired teen girl who is the female lead of Komi-san_wa_Komyushou_desu. She is drawn in two different styles throughout the series depending on the sequence. Her default style, which is usually how she appears in covers and when other characters are admiring her, has narrower eyes and an angular face. Her other style, which usually appears when she feels bashful, is a semi-chibi form where her face, eyes, and pupils will be much rounder and her mouth will be either tiny or nonexistent. She is admired by her classmates in Itan Private School who see her as the epitome of cool beauty and grace, but their perception of her is actually a misunderstanding. In reality, Shouko suffers from what the series describes as a communication disorder; her cool demeanor is actually the result of shyness so crippling that she can barely get a word out during everyday face to face conversations and has to resort to writing in her notebook to communicate. Even though her classmates admire her, she has had no real friends as no one really knew the real her until Tadano_Hitohito came into her life. Tadano is the first person to understand Shouko's problem and vows to help her accomplish her dream: making 100 new friends. He also becomes her translator of sorts when she interacts with others. Although her poker face makes her seem intimidating to others, Shouko is actually a very kind-hearted and curious girl who, in spite of her social anxiety, is willing to try new things. Even if she doesn't show it clearly, she welcomes anyone willing to be her true friend, but the one friend she treasures the most is Tadano. Shouko is also visually compared to a cat as she often sprouts cat ears throughout the manga. She loves cats and her personality is very similar to the popular perception of cats: seemingly aloof, but warm and affectionate once their trust is earned. She is voiced by Koga_Aoi. As Komi doesn't speak much, most of Koga's voice acting consists of various noises with a few occasional stuttered sentences.
