Ngl seeing the studio's track record this is their first LEGIT anime. Sure they make good trailers and short slice-of-life anime (the Azur lane slice-of-life anime one did well but is like 8 mins per eps) and seeing the Blue archive 9 min PV the quality kind of drop when the action started and if GFL anime teach me anything is that don't trust trailer and OP & ED
so yea keep your hype and expectation in check guys and finger cross

it just depends how long they've been working on it really. I think Bleach has been in production for at least 2 years, but that was mostly to make sure they could book the necessary voice actors and experienced freelance animators.
I don't know enough about the individual animators working at this studio and at the end of the day that matters more than the name of the studio working on an anime.

BTW I'd say Fate/Grand Order Babylonia was the first amazing gatcha game anime, and I don't think it'll ever be topped

Rage of Bahamut's anime is the best gacha adaptation out there. Best anime adaptation of a game, actually.

Arknights is going to be fine, Arknights has had numerous amounts of PVs and big chance Yostar is going to double down on it. The other gachas that were mentioned all had their own problems for the reason they ended up that way.

Azur Lane slow ahead is just short slice of life stories, the adaptation for them was great.

Yostar also helped out a bit with Azur lane adaptation, AL didn’t even really have a story at the time, so that was practically just a mess, story still good.

Blue Archive is just a test, the gacha hasn’t even been out for 2 years, I will say it has potential to be really good gacha adaptation and anime in general

GFL’s main concern was the anime’s director, the director had previously did Peachboy riverside and they had released the episodes out of order, and the studio kinda has a low track record of animes. Hopefully GFL can get a better adaptation at some point, it wasn’t bad but it didn’t show the full potential of the games story.

They had a really fun collab with A-1 pictures for the 1st anniversary, plus some other little animation snippets too. Seems like they're confident enough to do their own animation instead of outsourcing it - I don't really imagine financing as being a problem if they wanted to hire a studio, it's a pretty big gacha game.
I just really hope they include a lot of epic skills scenes lol, just to imatate the players helo-dropping down 6* operators to bulldoze the stages. Gimme some Silverash SHWING SHWING and some Surtr nukes please lol

The closest we will get to that would be when rosmontis shows up in the story. Surtr and Silverash don't really show up in the main storyline so far, or any of the op operators in fact.

The picture quality of the trailer looks good, the background music is also quite good. I hope the series will be better than Yostar's previous animes

that is what worries me PV and actual anime aren't the same at all

It’s not to say PVs are exactly how an anime is going to be, especially when the PV isn’t made by the same studio as the anime, but Yostar has a lot riding on this and they can’t really messed this up.

Too bad chapter 2-3 story will make people consider this show is overrated, although the first episodes will be a banger

I personally didn't really into reunion arc, i prefer their side stories like Kazimerz saga

I have to say I've always believed the first four episodes (ep 0-3) struggled as they didn't fit the Visual Novel format and HG was now just starting to figure out how to implement its vast world-building and character into the story, (which the next following chapters they did fantastic), since these chapters are the building blocks for the next, a flood of world-building and so many things happening that it can't be showcased in just a visual novel. This is why the anime will be fantastic for these chapters, cause it gives a 360 view of everything you are supposed to see. Just my input.

there is lot of good sign that this would become great.
1. The main staff are experienced and have worked on great anime (mob psycho, boku hero academia, and FGO Babylonia)
2. Arknight really popular in chinese, so there is a chance it can be backed by some chinese investor and would have same treatment as Bocchi the Rock
3. Arknight Animation PV got entirely different treatment compared to other Yostar games, every new banner always have better animation quality and for limited banner they added ~3-5 min cgi short animation.

Might be best gacha adaptation, but for best game adaptation I feel Cyberpunk Edgerunners might be the best one.

PV trailers are really nothing but 15 seconds of still and some animated frames, so quality goes into it. Full sized episodes are whole another matter as they need consistent quality which is harder. The 3D CG are made by HG themselves not Yostar Pictures, so that can't be taken into consideration.

And it's only 8 episodes this season which isn't really sufficient for a proper world building like it did in the game and might be more focused on action. But then again this is expected for anime adaptation.
I hope it's a success.

8 episodes is alright for how much they are going to adapt, but if they want to do the next story arc they'd need at least 24 episodes

The chapter 10 animation PV is actually much better than the Prelude to dawn PVs in terms of graphics.
This means that there was already a downgrade for consistency. So the visual quality we see from the trailer is likely the visual quality we are going to get from the anime.

idk Last Period was a pretty good one actually

Also, considering unlike Azur Lane, it actually has solid world building as the MAIN story, it should at least be good in that regard

Ch10 quality was top notch and had amazing details in all motion scenes. Hope it improves further down in the anime. After watching the first ep, I'd say its the same as Holy Knight Light special.

I'm pretty sure Shingeki no Bahamut isn't exactly a gacha adaptation. It borrows the name and the lore, but that's it, the story was original. And while season 1 was good, the second one was pretty mediocre.

Define success. Azure Lane (the first anime too, not Slow Ahead) actually had pretty good sales at least (Top 100 or 50 anime I think, in terms of sales), reviews notwithstanding. Seeing as AK is more or less more popular (?), it should also have strong sales too.

Yes and no, the gacha was in development before the anime was released, basically the gacha was to be released at the same time as season 1, it was to be a simultaneous release, the anime serving as a promo for the gacha.
except that the gacha had problems during the development which delayed it, in the end they decided to make a season 2 and to release the gacha with season 2.
but originally we should have had the gacha with the S1.
