Popeyes Just Brought Back Its Fan-Favorite Fish Sandwich

We’ve been seeing a lot of fish sandwiches making their way back to fast food menus lately and we’re not complaining. These limited-time offerings typically arrive in time for the Lenten season, when Catholics abstain from eating meat on Fridays leading up to Easter, but also happen to be some of our favorite sandwiches all year long. Dairy Queen's fish sandwich returned to menus this past week, joining the ranks of Arby’s Crispy Fish Sandwich, Fish ‘N Cheddar Sandwich, and King’s Hawaiian Fish Deluxe Sandwich, as well as its new Surf & Turf meal deal.

Now, Popeyes is getting in on the action. Sure, this fast food chain may be known for its chicken, but it serves up some solid seafood options, too. Its seasonal fish sandwich, in particular, is a favorite that fans are welcoming back with excitement.

Popeyes' Flounder Fish Sandwich Is Back

Popeyes recently brought its Flounder Fish Sandwich back to the menu just in time for Lent, which begins on March 5. This sandwich features a breaded and fried flounder filet that's topped with pickles and sauce and served on a brioche bun. You can choose to order this sandwich as a Classic with tartar sauce or as a Spicy with spicy spread.

The Flounder Fish Sandwich first debuted back in 2021 and continues to pop back up on menus right around this time each year, much to fans' delight. 

However, if fish sandwiches aren't your thing, you can also nab Popeyes' Shrimp Tacklebox combo, which returned to the menu alongside the fan-loved sandwich. This eight-piece meal of fried butterfly shrimp comes with one side (think: coleslaw or Cajun fries), a biscuit, and a small soft drink. The Tacklebox can also be turned into a Surf 'n' Turf combo by replacing four of the shrimp pieces with two chicken tenders, prepared classic, spicy, or blackened.

And, we hope you didn't give up sweets for Lent, because this year Popeyes is adding a dessert to its spring menu. The chain is bringing back its Strawberry Cream Cheese Fried Pie, which will join the Cinnamon Apple Pie for a limited time.

We’re not sure how long any of these beloved menu items will last, but judging from past experiences, you probably only have until Easter to get your fill of seafood.
