Hell yeah!! Finally Machi x Yuki moment. This ship sailed finer than expected. Love this duo. So cute together for each other forever. And when Yuki embraced Machi by remembering the one person who would be there for him just melted my heart aflutter. Damn I want a Machi in my life too X=

That end scene with Kyouko's POV was the final forgiving piece to Kyo's salvation. She entrusted her treasure to him. Aww
With the series finale next episode, can we hope for a future story with all the ships from the ED or is it gonna be just partings? Anyway its gonna be missed.
When someone asks me why I like anime, I'd say Just Because.

akito finally reveals her true self to everyone but i still think she could have apologized. she doesn't need to ask for forgiveness, but a simple 'im sorry' would have sufficed. but at least she does recognize how much she's hurt everyone and i really do think she's grown. i'm kinda hoping she grows out her hair too now that everyone knows she's female

wow and so it was a big misunderstanding on kyo's part regarding kyoko saying 'i'll never forgive you'. i felt like it wouldnt have made sense for her to say that to kyo just like that, and im glad we finally have some context. watching kyoko realize she was about to die and leave tohru all by herself was so heartbreaking. kinda facepalming at all the people around her just screaming and yelling though

also last episode is next week and im NOT ready for this series to end
I don't like that she doesn't really in the anime but she does in the manga. in the manga she talks and apologize to each member separately. they took alot of the good things that the manga does out. 🥲

The episode 11 looked like it's the last episode and this one as well. I thought I knew there are 13 epiodes, but during wathcing I was like "... is this really not a last episode?". Because how Kyo was talking about future and they showed it a bit, which is usually at the last episode. And how every couple got together, Akito (almost) apologized for her actions.
When I was almost certain there is one episode left there were ending text (instead of usual ending song) during the scene.
I had to check MAL for the number of episode.

Do you know how it hurts when you think you have more episodes left, but it appears that you have just watched your last ep? :(

Anyway I liked this episode. I am still not a fan of Akiro-Shigure relationship. It really is a toxic couple and they shouldn't get together. They might be happy now, because it looks like they are finally together and they can't really see what's underneath, but in a long way they will suffer.
I think they would be much more happier if they found someone outside the Sohma's.

About Yuki and Machi pairing - they wil sure have kids that will look like twins. Since their parents have similar traits - grey eyes, grey hair, lol.

And they explained why Tohru's mother said she will never forgive him. I was wondering what she really meant, because I was 100% sure it wasn't like Kyo thought.

I don't know what to expect in next episode, since everything is already explained. If I would put my lucky guess I would say they will show "the future" - like couples being marrier and kids.
Since that is what is usually going on in that kinds of anime when everything is already clear.

I have question to people who read manga - was this final season looked like that in manga as well?
I know I have read it, but looong time ago and I don't recognize most of the scenes - is it my memory or they changed some things?
(I will check if I even read it untill the end).

I just flooded my PC with my tears, but it's okay 👍.
I am simply so damn glad I could experience Fruits Basket over the course of these last 2 and half years, without any spoilers or prejudices about it being a shoujo or anything like that...there had been some moments during season 1 where I thought bullying was a little bit overused, but looking it back now, I am so happy I had my personal journey with this wonderful anime: I cried, I laughed and I developed a very powerful bond with every character, so I am very grateful that everyone is getting their happy ending.
A big thanks to TMS Entertainment and Natsuki Takaya sensei for making this possible<3

Machi X Yuki is obviously rushed. There's just that lack of bond between them in the perspective of the viewers, probably due to the lack of their "together moments". I was actually surprised when out of nowhere Machi went as far as asking to call Yuki by his first name. When they kissed, I was not surprised anymore and thought "yeah this is definitely rushed". A very sweet relationship still. I really like them and they're extremely cute together.

That's really all I have to point out, the rest of the episode was just utterly brilliant. Nothing more to say.

Until that final few minutes of flashback, this episode was one of a sense of catharsis, seeing all the Zodiac freed from the chains that bond them and able to truly enjoy it and look to the future: Kyo and Tohru on one side, and Yuki and Machi on the other, as well as everyone else in between, it's so good to see them filled with hope like this.

And then we got the flashback with Kyoko's dying thoughts, and that was absolutely heart-wrenching to watch her die. But then there was that catharsis once again, as we got confirmation that she didn't despise Kyo and that he doesn't have to feel all of the guilt that he does about it.

Beautiful, beautiful episode.

i feel like they're dragging tf out of the story in these last few episodes. the misunderstanding because fo kyouko's "ill never forgive you" is just ridiculous and laughable. and people seem to enjoy mochi x yuki but for me it felt out of place cuz we only got like three scenes of them actually talking? i guess that's what romance stories would look like for outsiders

Amazing how incredibly well adapted this episode was, such a fitting and well organized lead to the finale.

That's definitely a solid 5/5, one of the best eps in this entire season.

Ngl I didn't really care for the Yuki x Machi scene. The moments they had prior to this episode were definitely cute and I could see the chemistry, but the kiss and everything still felt pretty rushed. The bystanders' reactions were funny though. Don't really care for the Shigure x Akito ship either, although it's probably not meant to be seen as anything like Yuki and Machi's relationship. Didn't expect Akito to talk about Shigure like that - or any shoujo really lol. Damn they're really obsessed with one another.

But otherwise, I loved the last half of the episode. Tohru being stubborn about going with Kyo was cute, and it was so heartwarming seeing him talk about his future so happily with his master. Kyoko's POV at the end was absolutely heartbreaking, I was barely able to hold back my tears. Loved her monologue. One episode left! Definitely gonna miss this show.

Great episode but slightly disappointed that they cut out 2 kyoru scenes (つω`。).

I was really looking forward to that school scene where kyo waits for tohru after school and kyo confirms that they're dating when the classmates ask about it. Tohru was absolutely adorable in that scene (I wanna post that panel here but I'm using mobile and I dunno how to post images in a discussion. Super adorable tho, chapter 133 if anyone is interested).

Edit: I forgot about the scene where Shisho subtly hints wanting to become a grandfather to kyo and tohru ( ‾́ ◡ ‾́ ).

The other scene was their date to the zoo when hanajima and uenoyama tags along and tells kyo to take care of tohru. It was really nice and wholesome, and such a shame that they cut it out.

It's just...such a shame in general that the final season wasn't 25 episodes like s1 and s2. Feel like some scenes would've had much more impact with those little fluffy filler scenes in between.

Some scenes were a bit rushed (episode 6 ☆⌒(> _ <)), some in-between scenes were cut out (like kyo and tohru date), some scenes were combined and the general pacing was a bit off.

All in all, while it's a bit off, the studio did a great job of adapting the final season in just 13 episodes. They did what they could.

Don't exactly know what is being referenced to, there is not a specific scene like that in the manga

Manga spoilers

I highly recommend the manga tho as there are some little extra akito bits, good moments, side stories, yuichi moments etc that unfortunately didn't make the cut

Yes that chapter but in some author notes it was implied that she talked to all the zodiac members and told them what she didn't dislike about them and somewhat apologized. It's only later in fruits basket another where they tell you what she did though. which I loved fruits basket another. I hope they do an anime of it. I glad she wasn't just accepted by all the members just for apologizing and that she grew up.

It doesn't show all of them in the manga. but the author notes tell you that she did but once the anime ends I would say that instead you read the sequel Fruits basket another. It goes and basically shows you what happened and how all their kids look like. The story is about all their kids and I love it. Its only 13 chapters long though. I mean the anime took about a big chunk in the middle but it only took out that akito scene and it doesn't really matter as much as the other scenes that took out cuz its still the same result she not accepted in the zodiac which is good cuz it would be messed up if she was after all she did.

oh cool okay! i wasn't too sure what fb another was about but that sounds really interesting so i think i will give it a read. if it's only 13 chapters long then i wonder if they would adapt that as a movie or ova or something hopefully??? and yes that totally makes sense and its great that the end result stays the same. the flashback of god shows him being quite caring and gentle with all the zodiac members and then you have akito who basically looks down on everyone and treats them like dirt - which is a HUGE difference from the original zodiac. thanks for the suggestion about fb another!

Watashi wa a victim of cyberbullying. Everyday someone online calls me a "weeb" desu. Watashi won't stand for this. 26 percent of bullying victims are chosen due to their race or religion desu. I may look like a basic white boy, but deep down I am Nihongo desu. Watashi religion is anime. Anata wa bullying me because of my race and religion desu ka? Disgusting desu. Anata should be ashamed of yourself, racist pig. A baka gaijin like anata is probably jealous of my race and culture, cause Nippon is more sugoi than your shitty country desu. Watashi pity anata. So much happened in this one episode but it was one that perfectly concluded the story of the three Sohma boys who have been with Tohru since the beginning. In their own individual ways, they finally got what they deserved and it's been a beautiful, painful and striking journey that I'm glad I could be along for.

The Yuki x Machi scene is one of my absolute favorites from the manga because I have a special place in my heart for Yuki and it was so emotional seeing them come together with mutual love and trust. This scene really highlights just how much they were made for each other too, just like the miracle that Yuki mentions.

this episode had me questioning a lot of things about myself , for example:

- I mustn't be a very forgiving person because I just can't forgive akito, I know that a lot of what she had done came from the curse and her trauma but I just can't forgive her and I found myself getting angry and uncomfortable when she was with Shigure. I also don't find much chemistry between the two but maybe thats a me issue since I don't see it possible for anyone to want to spend time with akito.

- The second thing I noticed is that I am probably pretty self centred. I'm a senior and the same age as the main cast so I'm at the same pivotal moment of deciding my future and honestly I was surprisingly surprised that Tohru jumped at the chance to follow kyo to a dojo. You might be thinking "how could you be surprised? Tohru is so selfless!" but honestly, I disagree. Tohru's development has shown her to be rather stubborn (i mean she even said so herself) and she also seems to put herself first in a lot of situations, which is something I value about her character. But honestly I'd hate to move to a dojo in the middle of nowhere...i've been somewhat in love before and believe me, if he asked me to move into the middle of nowhere to better himself i'd reply "good for you buddy, maybe we can meet up for coffee when you visit the city" Anyway, I'm not trying to say that the decision for her to follow him was the wrong choice oor that I didn't like it because I did. It's interesting and romantic and not everything has to be realistic all the time and me a tohru are vastly different anyway so we'd obviously not make the same decisions, I just thought it was interesting.

I can't believe it's almost over omg...

What Akito has done was pretty terrible, and as she said just saying "I'm sorry" feels somewhat disrespectful. She has to have a discussion with each one of the ex zodiac members and be there to help & protect them as they are trying to move on and pursue their dreams.

Maybe that's why she talks about being the head of the family afterall. Maybe by staying at the soma estate , she can actually be there to keep an eye on them and protect their interests specially from old fashioned members of the soma family. She has to prove her sincerity, after that only can she begin to ask for forgiveness.

As for Tohru, She always has planned on not doing studies after highschool. She always said that she only planned to finnish highschool to honnor her promess to her mother. Otherwise, I think Tohru would have work at 15 years old or so. After highschool, she always said that she wanted to work and not be dependant on her grandfather money. Even if she follows Kyo, I think she plans to find a job as whatever (waitress, maid, ect ect ) and start putting money aside slowly.

I understand that you would find her following Kyo not very realistic. But let's keep in mind that Tohru has no parents and basically nowhere to go once highschool is over. The deal was to stay at Shigure only until highschool is over and then she planned to find a job & start a life elsewhere. For her following Kyo doesn't change her plan. The only thing that changes is the fact that she will be separated from her friends, but even that is quite logic after highschool everyone takes different paths and see less of each other, but it doesn't mean the end of the friendship. Tohru knows that and I think that's why she can confidently say right away that she will follow Kyo with a big smile on her face.

This episode is good to see Yuki free from the curse and for Yuki and Machi to hug and the kiss is good.Yuki is one of my favorite fruits basket character so glad to see him that someone loves him and cares for him that he is not lonely anymore and that there is someone that cares for him. At first I wanted him to be with Tohru but I realized he is okay to be with Machi and Tohru and Kyo are good for one another. I finally realized what happened from the death of Kyoko that she didn't really hate Kyo but wants him to protect her because she isn't gonna be there for Tohru anymore.

Yes I understand what you mean and the reason behind the characters actions. especially tohru. I was just sharing perspective that it made me realise how selfish and unforgiving I can be, it was mostly just me sharing how much this episode taught me about myself which is something fruits basket is amazing at.

Yuki x Machi made my day, and that ending messed me up.

Plan to watch the last episode tomorrow, this has been an outstanding season that is for sure.
Just love all the development so much!

Yuki and Machi! Finally! The ship has finally sailed! It was a long time coming and expected, but it's finally here. Can't believe in the past we used to think Yuki x Tohru or Kyo x Tohru. But now, I really love this ship. Machi and Yuki were made for each other, and they are so cute! What a kiss. Yuki went full prince charming mode on the overwhelmed Machi lol

Why were people staring though? Is it that odd to see people kissing in public? I thought it wasn't that odd in Japan. Maybe because Yuki's so handsome or something? Nevermind, Yuki x Machi ^^

Glad to see the entire Soma family moving on with their lives, and even Akito too. At first, it was weird seeing her in women's clothing. But slowly I got used to it. Glad that even she's trying to find happiness, and she knows that she can't just say sorry and that'll be enough. It didn't occur to me that if she said sorry, it would've felt like she thought she was off the hook. But I did feel a simple apology wasn't enough, and I'm happy she realised that too, so she can live and atone, live as herself.

Kyo and Tohru are so cute. It's so great seeing Kyo so full of life and hope. And bright, fulfilled Tohru is even more charming, something I didn't think was possible! That yellow dress looks really great on her.

And we get the flashback to when Kyoko died. I had flashbacks to the flashback episodes in Season 2 when Tohru received news that her mother had been in an accident... That was so sad.

And as I expected, somebody like Kyoko would never curse Kyo like that. She wouldn't forgive him if he didn't keep their promise and protect Tohru in her stead. So all those years, Kyo misunderstood. I hope Kyo too can slowly believe what Tohru believes already over time as they live their lives together.

It was great that we didn't leave off with just Kyoko dying, but a glimpse into the afterlife where she can finally meet with the man she loves, the father of Tohru, once again.

I can't believe this is ending I'm so sad T_T

Yuki x Machi has to be one of my favorite ships ever. Top three are Rin x Haru, Kyo x Tohru and Machi x Yuki. The other ships in the series are fun and nice but honestly, I don't care about them.

Ngl, as much as Akito has grown on me, I still don't care for her and Shigure being a couple, I still think they're toxic as fuck.

The end of this episode just broke my heart.

Fantastic episode. One of my favorites for sure. The last two or three minutes where we get to know what Tohru's mom was thinking in her last moments deeply touched me.

5/5

Okay, and that's now officially the hardest that FB has made me cry. All of this time, Kyoko's dying wish was being granted. That moment when she saw Kyo in the crowd hit it all home and conjured up feelings reminiscent of when I first saw a certain scene in Clannad.

Nice to see the Yuki and Machi ship officially set sail. Even if it felt slightly rushed.

Shigure and Akito's relationship feels too twisted to feel happy about.

Even with the explanation of why Kyouko said what she said it all feels to convenient...

im SOOSOSOSOSOSo glad yuki x machi is a thing now and they finally kissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

akito finally reveals her true self to everyone but i still think she could have apologized. she doesn't need to ask for forgiveness, but a simple 'im sorry' would have sufficed. but at least she does recognize how much she's hurt everyone and i really do think she's grown. i'm kinda hoping she grows out her hair too now that everyone knows she's female

wow and so it was a big misunderstanding on kyo's part regarding kyoko saying 'i'll never forgive you'. i felt like it wouldnt have made sense for her to say that to kyo just like that, and im glad we finally have some context. watching kyoko realize she was about to die and leave tohru all by herself was so heartbreaking. kinda facepalming at all the people around her just screaming and yelling though

also last episode is next week and im NOT ready for this series to end
I don't like that she doesn't really in the anime but she does in the manga. in the manga she talks and apologize to each member separately. they took alot of the good things that the manga does out. 🥲

That didn’t happen

This anime really had to put a masterclass of a tearjerker scene at the end of Kyoko o(╥﹏╥)o

Lots of happy and beautiful moments happening recently which we as viewers definitely needed after all these tragedies and sadness.

This character development is so great that I want to give Shigure a divine punishment of playing
with Akito's feelings and body when she was still living as a man.

Though I'm glad to finally see Machi and Yuuki having a kissing scene and what's more, outside.
What bold move! I finally get to see what will happen after their "bond" is severed.

The things about Tohru's mom finally came to light. So that's what Kyou's talking about being "not forgiven".
That ending was superbly created! I'm crying just watching this episode. >.<
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.
