| Tasokare Hotel OP Without question. (Tasokare by Kayoko Yoshizawa) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6AfOdkIFe8 Not only is it my favorite of the season by an enormous margin, but it's quite an incredible thing that we're only in the first of the year's four season and I already harbor a strong inkling that it will remain high up there in my rankings and estimation throughout the year even with many more series to come and a particularly packed spring season incoming. Great OPs both heighten the dramatic and emotional intensity and range/variance of and within the series they're attached to and are musically enjoyable in their own right to listen to even aside from that consideration in some detached context. And ideally also have the music pair well with the visuals from the standpoint of timing. This qualifies in full. There are a few other good ones from this season which I'd place high up there (especially after more thoroughly reading and rereading through your original post to see that this particular tournament also extends to include EDs of the season), but none really come close to me, except for one ED. But as was the case with past seasons of anime and past OPs and EDs, I've mainly only listened to and watched the ones of series I'm watching, so this will be an opportunity to be exposed to more I otherwise wouldn't for a while or ever. I truthfully in recent days had forgot about this looming tournament so I'm certainly glad that you did not. |
