I'm going on low expectations probably. It's not that I'll expect it to be shit honestly, but I do expect to be either a disappointment or underwhelming, because the ending itself was perfect in many ways, unless they try to explain without really saying anything taking our from their own assholes.

THIS.

Though I honestly might not bother watching it unless the score and reviews are just as good as Season 1 and 2

I'd say I don't really rely on scores anymore, but more about the opinion and the general reception would be the thing for me to watch if I don't pick this up. Though most likely will since I loved both seasons but yeah.

As I said, I'll keep my expectations low for this one since I just don't think it will be as strong compared to the other seasons, unless it does become strong, but I doubt it.

That's pretty true, because a lot of people are saying "cash-grab" even though my expectations are low not because of that of course, but still. People should go and take a chill pill and calm down.

No, you can't. They are changing the canon. Until now it was arguable at best if Lelouch died. Now there is a canonical answer. As part of a community, you can't ignore that.

On the contrary, this is not a matter of canon in strict terms. In particular, Japan does not use that term in the first place. For them, everything is valid and no less official. Do you believe FMA:B made the 2003 version non-canon? That's not how it works. Multiple versions of the same story can co-exist. There are people who dislike the Madoka movie (Rebellion) and they still like the Madoka TV series.

My god just don't watch it then 🙄

But this is basically beating a dead horse. The conclusion was done perfectly with all loose ends tied up nicely. Feels like those series where prolonging the ending just makes everything worse.

Sure hope the haters who called it a 'trainwreck' won't be around to bitch about it when they undoubtedly watch this.

Well, I guess I can say 'suck it' to all the sheeple that were so adamant about Lelouch's death and vehemently rejected any logical train of thought from a believer of Lelouch's revival. 'Hurr durr, the creator said he was dead'.
Yoshii Kiria took over as leader of Fairytale and rebuilt it and became one of Tsukunes formidable enemies but let's save that story for another time

Hehe, let me introduce him to you again, kid. This is Shuzen Issa (who is MIA during the final battle), who will become your 'trainer' starting today. You still have much to go if you want to become the headmaster.

I'm going in with bottom of the line expectations.
If it sucks, I won't be too badly dissapointed.
If it's moderate, I can enjoy it.
If it's very good, great, or downright amazing, well, I'll be overjoyed.

i think code doesn't need another season it was perfect or expected ending imo.
but this could make sense

will you remember the last EP of the last season when cc was in wagon talking to the guy next to her was kinda look like Lelouch still alive and continue the story from there like 10 years time skip the leaders of the wold or the country get controlled by bad guys again and he come back. BUT this may turn to trash and bad for this tittle but i still like to see more its mix felling i have about this . Lets just wait and see

That's statistically unlikely, for at least two or three reasons.

1. R2's main structural problem was a sudden switch in schedules and reworking of plans from one year to another. This new project has probably been in talks for multiple years, so there is nothing "sudden" about it.

They will also take their time to release the sequel, because the recaps will come first.

2. It might not even be a TV series, thus making things easier to produce in multiple senses. Even if it is a TV series though, the time slot probably won't be changed in the middle either.

3. People already seem to know what they want about Code Geass at this point and the staff isn't blind to the existing trends among the fanbase.

Joms said:

That depends on your mindset, both former and current. If a given fan thought the show was the best ever, then perhaps he/she won't think that now. But my point of view was not so naive. I am probably at least a little older than you, more than likely, and yet still enjoyed the show back then as well as after going back to it in more recent years.

It helps that I wasn't expecting the series to be perfect, not at all, and accepted its issues as part of the package, rather than suddenly being made aware of them with time. Not to mention reading interviews with the staff in order to understand how they approached the production, rather than having other viewers use exaggerations to hype it up for me.

Besides, I would say the sales figures have already spoken. In fact, they never stopped doing so. The show still sells and it's undeniable that many fans have "grown up" while still liking it.

This.

Who gives a damn about their motive. All animes are cash-grab anyway especially movies and those adapted from games. People are just sore their argument at the ending was proven false and now they're venting out their frustration. Are people not tired of making mistake? Chill. Watch first before you talk crap.

I'm hoping it kinda stays coherent but has that trainwrecky vibe to it, kinda like R2. That's really the best case scenario here. If it turns out like R1 though, then that would be surprising.

Well, surely it's easy to say it is a cash grab
Well, even when I don't want to admit it, but, yeah.
I believe that this series is supposedly ended with Lelouch really died.
Lelouch is dead: that how it should be.
Surely, the ending is EPIC as hell though it is quite sad.
Even when the fans know that he has died with honor, somehow, most of them can't accept it.
I mean, me, as one of those fans, feel like it's-good-ending-but-Lelouch-deserves-better-ending-but-if-the-ending-is-changed-then-it-won't-be-epic-anymore.
Even after years, I can't get over with Lelouch's death.
And here, right now, I think the anime staff is trying their best for CG fans.
Nevermind about cash grab: if it's not a worthy sequel, they won't be gaining lots anyway. They're doing their best. They're adding a story whereas the story has actually ended: that's what I thought.

Let's just see what's coming rather than jumping into judging conclusions, dear human. Making anime isn't as easy as turning your palm.
